![]() Spotifind is a free Windows 7 application to find your existing MP3 music collection on Spotify. It searches Spotify for each track in your collection, and produces an HTML page of links to tracks, albums and artists. Download (Windows 7 only). Please note that Spotifind may not be made available for download from any other website. This product uses a SPOTIFY API but is not endorsed, certified or otherwise approved in any way by Spotify. Spotify is the registered trade mark of the Spotify Group. Usage: 1) Install and run Spotifind. 2) Set your location using the drop-down list. Use the link provided to help you choose if necessary. 3) Press the "scan a directory for music" button, and browse to the root of your music collection. 4) Spotifind scans the directory and any subdirectories, then searches Spotifind for each MP3 or M4A file it finds. If a match is found, it is listed in the main window, alongside the accuracy of the match. The status bar at the bottom of the screen shows how much of the collection has been scanned so far. 5) Spotifind scans about one file per second. It cannot scan any faster because the Spotify API, upon which Spotifind is based, does not permit it. When Spotifind scans too fast, it will then pause for 10 seconds to allow the Spotifind API to unblock. This is normal; however it means that large music collections can take many hours to complete. 6) Once Spotifind has completed, you can adjust the "Accuracy" field to include or exclude files from the final output. Searches which had a lower accuracy than the value in this field, are excluded from the final output. 7) Use the "Save Results" button to output a single HTML page containing all the successful album, artist and song matches Spotifind found. If you have Spotify installed, clicking on any of these will launch Spotify. Please send feedback to spotifind(at)gamesforsmartphones.co.uk. Known Issues: The results box does not perform well with more than 10,000 items in it. Processing more than 10,000 music files in one go is therefore not recommended. A fix may follow for this issue. Possible future feature list, depending on feedback: Windows XP/Vista support Create file/directory hierarchy of Spotify shortcuts Customise and shrink HTML output |
